ABBAWORLD Stockholm

The Swedish press reports that the opening of ABBAWORLD in Stockholm has just come a step closer. With the Arts Council supporting the idea, Touring Exhibitions hope to receive planning permission to erect a building on Djurgården this autumn, with the exhibition opening its doors next year.

ABBA/Mamma Mia! Special Copenhagen

The Hard Rock Cafe in Copenhagen is running an ABBA/Mamma Mia! special every Thursday from the 2nd September till the 7th October. There are ABBA Singstar competitions but also a room with an ABBA/Mamma Mia! theme.

London ABBA Picnic Reminder

This year, the wild picnic is back in St James's Park, of course - Saturday, 14th August, from 12 noon. Both members and non-members are welcome to join us, but you need to bring your own food and drink.

Unique ABBA Autographed Artwork Fan Offer

This special artwork is created from soundwaves taken from the song Mamma Mia. Only 50 prints were produced world wide with each piece hand signed by all four band members. Royal Wedding in Stockholm

During the wedding ceremony, the song Vilar God, I Din Famn, composed by Benny and with lyrics by Kristina Lugn, was performed by a choir and Orsa Spelmän. Later outside the palace, another choir performed Brudmarsch Från Valbo which most fans know as Duvemåla Hage. Considerable footage of the wedding is available here. The song here.

Agnetha and Benny opened ABBAWORLD in Melbourne, Australia, via a vidoo message sent from Sweden in which they cut a gold and blue ribbon. The video is here.

New Dates for ABBAWORLD in Melbourne

We have sent out a special newsletter with an offer to all of our members. However, the dates have changed, and all now takes place a week later than planned due to freight delays caused by the recent volcanic ash clouds experienced in Europe. The public opening is now on June 19. When you register (see newsletter), we will give you further details and the exact dates.

Björn joins Benny in the Hospitality Business

Björn has purchased a historic building/island in his hometown of Västervik. Slottsholmen has fallen into disrepair, and his company is investing 150 million Swedish Crowns to redevelop the area and turn it into time share property, restaurants, cafés and a conference centre. Fan Club Day

As always, this year's Fan Club Day was a great success, with our friends from Premium Publishing making great photos available to the fans, Sara Russell presenting (and signing) her amazing ABBA Guide to Stockholm, the fantastic auction of ABBAWORLD displays and so much more.

We have a few original display items from ABBAWORLD available and are auctioning them off. All proceeds are used for future Fan Club activities. The auction will end on the ABBA Day but for those who are interested and cannot make it to the ABBA Day, there is an option to place secret bids through email.

MM! Screening at the O2 in London

The fan club has discounted tickets for the biggest ever screening of MM! The Movie at the O2 Arena in London on the 24th January available (members only, £10.00 per ticket). Our UK members have already received an email about this, but if you live elsewhere and happen to be in London for the opening of ABBAWORLD, please send a mail to our info@ address.

The sing-along version of the film will be shown on a giant 100ft screen, and there is room for 12,000 at the O2. The London cast of the MAMMA MIA! stage show will also come along to to give a pre-screening performance, so make sure you do not miss out on this exciting event.
